Louis C.K.’s show, Louie, is beloved by critics even though the FX show has yet to catch on with most mainstream viewers. Maybe C.K.’s Emmy wins will help. The comedian, who writes, directs, producers, stars in and sometimes edits his show, won for best comedy writing. He also won an Emmy for best writing in a variety, music or comedy special for his Louie C.K. Live at the Beacon Theatre. C.K. raised more than $1 million selling the special directly to the public. It’s a new model that could earn him plenty of money to go along with all that respect.
